Health & Safety at the CCBE Annual Conference

Dear Fellow Trustee,

We have no higher priority than the safe and healthy convening of our CCBE members, speakers, and other guests September 10-12 in Monterey, California at our Annual Conference. Accordingly, we will follow the applicable requirements of Monterey County and California, as well as CDC guidance.

In addition, to meet personal preferences and individual circumstances, each attendee has the option of attending any session of the “hybrid” event either online or in person. Registered attendees will have live online access to the audio and presentation materials of each panel session, and to the audio of each keynote presentation, via Zoom.

For those attending the conference in person the following requirements apply:

  1. COVID CLEARANCE: WHEN CHECKING IN ON-SITE IN MONTEREY, EVERY ATTENDEE IS REQUIRED TO PROVIDE PROOF OF EITHER (A) COMPLETED COVID-19 VACCINATION, OR (B) NEGATIVE ANTIGEN or PCR COVID TEST IN THE PRIOR 72 HOURS. CCBE CONFERENCE BADGES WILL REPRESENT YOUR CLEARING THE COVID PROTOCOL, AND BADGES MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES IN THE CONFERENCE FACILITIES.
    • For proof of full vaccination against Covid-19, you'll need to show documentation or sign an attestation that you have received your last Moderna or Pfizer (or single Johnson & Johnson) dose by September 1, 2021.
    • For proof of a negative Covid-19 test, the following guidance applies: The test must have been taken within 72 hours of each day you are attending.  Full conference registrants may be tested Tuesday, September 7, or Wednesday, September 8 for their negative result to be honored on all three of the conference days. Print out the results of the test and bring them to the conference.
  2. Masks: Wearing of masks will be mandatory indoors (and recommended outdoors) for all attending individuals, unless eating or drinking.
  3. Distancing: Occupancy limitations in panel sessions will be enforced to ensure appropriate distancing per applicable county and/or state guidance. Seating capacity will be managed in each of our program rooms to allow for extra spacing.
  4. Sanitizing: Hand sanitizers will be available throughout the facility.

With these measures in place, we heartily welcome you to join us online or in-person (your choice) to enjoy great speakers like the CEO of the Kapor Center, two world-famous child psychologists from Stanford, and panels featuring your colleagues from all corners of the state.

See you soon!

Looking forward,

Joe Ross
President-Elect
California County Boards of Education
